Nelson is finalist for city's top job

Adrian City Attorney Dane Nelson is a finalist for the city administrator position, following the resignation of George Brown.
Nelson was the only local applicant to make it to the final round.
His selection does not come as a big surprise to those around city hall as he is well liked and respected among the commissioners and has worked for the city in some capacity most of his life.

The other finalists include two men who both lost their jobs around the same time the man whose old job they are seeking did, and apparently for the same reason -- a conflict with the new mayor.
They are also both finalists for similar positions in southern states currently.

The two are, Michael L. Miller - former Director of Administration in North Canton, Ohio and Michael J. Czymbor - former Milan City Administrator.

Miller has been without a job since December, and is a finalist for the city manager position in Beaufort, South Carolina.
He has a bachelor of arts from George Washington University and a law degree from the University of Akron School of Law.

Czymbor spent nearly a decade at the helm in Milan before resigning after a conflict with the mayor. He is one of several finalists for the city manager job in Fernandina Beach, Fl.
Czymbor is set to interview for that job Saturday afternoon and a vote is set for next Monday.

Interviews for the position here in Adrian will take place Thursday, February 16, at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
