Brown a finalist for Marshall job

Former Adrian city manager George Brown is a finalist for the city manager job in Marshall.
Brown is one of four finalists and interviewed for the job Friday.
Brown resigned from his post here in Adrian in November after months of speculation.
Brown had become quite embattled in Jan. 2005 after he told city commissioners he had disciplined former Police Chief Michael Martin in June 2004 for allowing police evidence to be destroyed.
But he later admitted he had not done so until November, backdating Martin's reprimand to make it appear he had issued it earlier.
Martin left the city following that controversy and issues with Lt. Tom Ray.
Following questions about his record here in Adrian, Martin was named police chief in Woodhaven earlier this month.
