Defeated U.S. Rep. Joe Schwarz said Wednesday he's being urged by supporters to run as an Independent in November and take Tim Walberg out.
Walberg, R-Tipton, defeated Schwarz in Tuesday's Republican primary soundly by about 4,000 votes.
Schwarz called the idea of throwing out his Republican Party membership "intriguing," but said he is not interested, The Detroit Free Press reported today.
But Michigan law wouldn't even allow Schwarz to run as an Independent, "leaving an impossibly daunting write-in campaign as the only alternative," the Free Press reported today.

Joe would make a great Lt. Governor, he would be a great aide to DeVos. With his legislative experience and his background, he'd make a helluva Lt. Gov.

While Lt. Gov. is an intriguing scenario, the fact is, it would be very hard for him to be #2 and possibly #3 behind Betsy. I can't see him there. But, you can never tell. His political star has not set.
