Opera house, orchestra and a local band get state arts grants

Croswell Opera House, Adrian Symphony Orchestra and River Raisin Ragtime Revue were named recipients of state arts grants yesterday.
The three local groups were among nearly 300 arts and cultural organizations around the state to get a share of the $10.1 million in grants, the Jackson Citizen Patriot reported today.
Croswell Opera House got $7,500, the Symphony Orchestra will receive $10,000 and the River Raisin Ragtime Revue of Tecumseh will was awarded $10,500 for its programs.

These projects have an excellent chance of contributing to the community and probably attracting a few jobs to the area. Never forget, Tim Walberg and his club for growth puppeteers would call these projects pork.
